Mountain Man hats are all around fun! They are usually made from a whole hide, and have legs, face and tails.

I can do two varieties of a Mtn Man hat. One is based off a pillbox hat and has no ear flaps, but usually the legs or tails hang down on either side of your face. This is the more traditional style. The second, more contemporary style is based off the trapper hat and has ear flaps that are able to be tied under your chin while there are still legs hanging down. The Contemporary style is better for ice fishing, while the Traditional style is for situations like Rondavous, trade shows, bonfires and the like where you probably will not need to "baton down the hatches" and fend off the icy cold wind.
